As we embark on an exciting period of growth, we are expanding our operations into the US market and seeking a dynamic and ambitious individual to help drive this expansion. The VP of Growth (AI & Data Science) will play a critical role in developing our US business, managing relationships with new and existing clients, and ensuring the successful delivery of projects by our highly skilled UK-based team. This is a unique opportunity for a data science professional with a passion for driving business growth to make a significant impact and contribute to shaping the future of ADSP in the US.
The Role
Business Development • Define and execute a comprehensive business development strategy that aligns with company goals • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and in the media, establishing our brand as a thought leader in AI • Drive the end-to-end sales cycle, from lead generation to negotiation and closing • Identify and evaluate emerging AI trends and potential partnership avenues • Create accurate forecasts, pipelines, and reports, tracking all activities, opportunities, and revenue metrics • Provide strategic input into pricing models, ensuring competitiveness while optimizing profitability • Identify, target, and secure high-value clients in key industries • Establish relationships with decision-makers within target organizations, showcasing the value of our AI solutions • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, understanding their AI needs, presenting tailored solutions, and ensuring long-term partnerships • Collaborate with marketing, data science and engineering teams to develop compelling content, case studies, and presentations that highlight our expertise • Develop customised proposals, presentations, and solutions for prospective clients Technical Delivery • Work closely with the project delivery team to ensure seamless client onboarding and successful project delivery • Lead project meetings with clients • Monitor project progress, identifying and addressing risks • Develop strategic relationships with clients and partners to create business opportunities • Write proposals for exciting new data science opportunities • Collaborate with other departments to align technical strategies and business goals
Required Skills
• Degree in a quantitative field such as mathematics, statistics or data science • Considerable experience of both sales and delivery within data science consulting in a known-brand consultancy • Experience of establishing productive client relationships • Experience of successfully leading complex data science and AI projects, including project management and commercial activities • Experience of applied machine learning techniques in Python (e.g. xgboost, regression, decision trees) • Experience of leading technical bid activities and proposal writing • Demonstrated experience driving the entire sales process, from lead generation to contract negotiation and closing • Experience public speaking and presentation at events • Extensive knowledge of data science and machine learning concepts and principles, including advanced techniques such as deep learning, reinforcement learning and LLMs • A holistic understanding of the data science development process, from design through to deployment • Knowledge and understanding of business and project commercials and risks • Excellent communication skills through written reports and presentations • Organisational skills e.g. planning, time management, problem solving • Ability to identify and evaluate market trends, emerging AI technologies, and competitive landscape • Ability to define and implement a comprehensive business development strategy that aligns with company goals and industry dynamics • Strong expertise in leading end-to-end sales cycles, negotiation, and deal closing, with a track record of securing high-value deals • Proficiency in establishing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, clients, and decision-makers • Ability to collaborate with marketing, data science, engineering, and project delivery teams to ensure cohesive and high-quality service
